Carla Quimson is a San Diego–based horticulturist and landscape designer with a passion for native plants, habitat creation, and community-driven gardens. She serves as the Horticulturist for The San Diego Natural History Museum’s Nature Trail Garden, where she works alongside volunteers and an advisory committee to care for a living landscape that supports pollinators, wildlife, and year-round learning. Carla’s work focuses on regenerative garden practices, thoughtful plant selection, and reimagining maintenance as stewardship rather than control. Through her work at the museum and in residential landscapes, she enjoys helping people see their gardens as dynamic ecosystems that can be both beautiful and ecologically meaningful.
